The United States of America is a country in North America that has 50 states and one federal district in which the capitol resides. It's coastlines are both on both the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Gulf of Mexico. The country borders Mexico to the south and Canada to the north. The capitol is Washington D.C, and is lead by a president. The country hosts a wide variety of different terrain such as plains, mountains, deserts, valleys, and lowlands. The largest city in the United States is New York City, located on Long Island. The United States has a total of about 3,794,101 square miles of land. The country also has a wide variety of natural resources such as iron, produce, etc. The currency is the United States dollar.

The colors on the national flag are red, white, and blue. There are 13 stripes representing the original 13 colonies. The stripes alternate red and white, starting with red. There were also 48 white stars in a blue box in the upper left-hand corner. Each star represents one of the 48 states (at the time, Alaska and Hawaii were not US States).

The Army was separated by two oceans before and during World War II, after the Pearl Harbor Attack and after the Declaration of War on Dec. 08, 1941, but in the Pacific the US Army Far East Forces based in the Philippines was also attacked alone with other American Bases. This Army in the Philippines was under the command of General Douglas MacArthur.

The Army on the other side of the World was under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower and General George S. Patton which started in French North Africa to the Door Step of Berlin.
