This battle took place at the city of El Alamein, Egypt from October 23, 1942 to November 11, 1942. Bernard Montgomery commanded the British Eighth Army and Erwin Rommel commaded the Afrika Korps during this battle. The British sustained 13,560 casualties, 332 – 500 tanks lost, 111 guns lost, and 97 aircraft lost. The Germans sustained 30,542 casualties, 500 tanks lost, 254 guns lost, and 84 aircraft lost. The British and other Allied Forces ended up winnig the battle and drove Rommel west into Libya. El Alamein.
