Omaha Beach is the famous beach where part of D-Day took place. It was one of the five sectors which was planned for the allied landing in Normandy, France.
Omaha was also the bloodiest beach of the five and claimed 2,400 American lives. When the Boats arrived on the beach and the boat driver opened the door the Nazi's in the towers wold shoot there heavy machine guns, Rocket Launchers, and sniper rifles at the men when they came out. Most of the men jumped on of the boat on the sides. When the towers were destroyed they took over the base. Now Omaha is a beach of what use to be a battle ground. You can now visit Omaha beach and walk on or in the old towers. The beach still has bullets, bombs, etc in the sand.
