Infanteriegeschütz 37 (75mm)

A photograph of an Infanteriegeschütz 37.

The Infanteriegeschütz 37 was an infantry support gun that was used by Germany during World War II. It fired 75 mm shells at an effective range of about 5,000 meters.[1] The total length of the Infanteriegeschütz was about 1.7 meters while the total weight was about 510 kilograms.

It's muzzle velocity was about 280 meters per second and while the gun itself was of new design, the carriage used was the same as the PaK 35/36, which is why when it was first developed, its designation was the PaK 37.
